Recurring Urban LegendOn E-Budo there has been some dicussion about you teaching a seminar to a group of Navy SEAL's. Supposedly you asked one of them to hit you, and he did and the result was that he knocked you out. I like to hear things from the horses mouth, if you will, and as such I would prefer to ask you directly rather than read hearsay. I am in Florida addressing a convention and do not have time for much of a reply right now, but this needs to be addressed. The story Demian heard comes from a part of the horse other than the mouth. It is a blatant falsehood. Absolutely totally false. I have never worked with the SEALs in any such context. I have never challenged and been knocked out by a SEAL, or any other military person, for that matter. I know that Bud Malmstrom has a funny SEAL story that he tells about a week that he spent with them. Bud tells the story in a way that "the joke is on him". Perhaps this post was a twisted version of Bud's story with me in it instead of Bud. I really appreciate Demian bringing this to light. Otherwise, I would not have known what was being said about me on those other BBS. I would ask all members who have access to those other BBS to please write in with the correction from me. Challenging a SEAL and being knocked out never happened. Nothing even remotely like that ever happened. Please do your best to spread that truth in all relevant forums. Thanks for your assist! - Stephen K. Hayes
