The Quest List Japanese-English Dictionary Browser PluginsDo you ever find yourself searching for kanji or for a quick translation? Do you wish there was an easy way to do so right from your Web browser? Now you can!
Best of all, this is provided to you absolutely, positively, totally FREE under the terms of the GNU Public License. So how do you get these great plug-ins? First, you need a Mozilla-compatible browser with searchbar functionality. Happily, these are free, too. Download either Mozilla or Mozilla Firefox (Firefox is preferred) for Windows, Linux, or the Macintosh, and install. Then download the appropriate plugins below, and unzip the contents to your searchbar folder. In Windows, this is usually C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins. When you're done, you should have two files for each plugin, a .src file and a .gif graphic icon. Fire up your browser, select the appropriate translation direction (E->J, J->E, or Hunt Kanji) and you're ready to go! If you like this software, please consider linking to this web site (www.thequestlist.com) from your own web site or blog! Is there technical support available? Sorry... no. Any other goodies? More open-source software can be found at the StudentPlatinum.com script archive. |
