The Quest List Japanese-English Dictionary Browser Plugins

Do you ever find yourself searching for kanji or for a quick translation? Do you wish there was an easy way to do so right from your Web browser? Now you can!

Search right from your browser!Using Mozilla or Mozilla Firefox, we are pleased to provide you with three searchbar plugins - EJDict and JEDict, to translate from Japanese to English and vice-versa, using ordinary romaji and English word input. The third plugin is Kanji Hunter; simply enter the romaji you know and the plugin will hunt down any appropriate kanji!

Best of all, this is provided to you absolutely, positively, totally FREE under the terms of the GNU Public License.

So how do you get these great plug-ins? First, you need a Mozilla-compatible browser with searchbar functionality. Happily, these are free, too. Download either Mozilla or Mozilla Firefox (Firefox is preferred) for Windows, Linux, or the Macintosh, and install.

Then download the appropriate plugins below, and unzip the contents to your searchbar folder. In Windows, this is usually C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins. When you're done, you should have two files for each plugin, a .src file and a .gif graphic icon.

Fire up your browser, select the appropriate translation direction (E->J, J->E, or Hunt Kanji) and you're ready to go!
