1. What is The Quest List?
The Quest List is an Internet e-mail/web discussion list that focuses on the
work of martial arts pioneer and master Stephen K. Hayes. The Quest List
focuses specifically on Mr. Hayes' work and his To-Shin Do martial
arts system. The Quest List is a list that offers its members a chance to
discuss Mr. Hayes' work and receive information and news about
upcoming articles and events.
2. How do I subscribe/unsubscribe?
* To subscribe to The Quest List, send e-mail to The Quest List-
subscribe[ at ]egroups.com.
* To unsubscribe from The Quest List, send e-mail to The Quest List-
unsubscribe[ at ]egroups.com.
You should feel free to distribute these e-mail addresses to your
colleagues, training groups, and martial arts friends.
3. Is The Quest List membership restricted?
In the early days of The Quest List, membership was restricted to students
at SKH Quest Centers or schools operated by friends of Mr. Hayes.
Today, membership is open to anyone who wishes to participate, as
long as he or she follows the Acceptable Use Policy. Individuals who
choose not to obey the Acceptable Use Policy will be unsubscribed and
banned from the list.
4. What is the Acceptable Use Policy?
The Acceptable Use Policy, or AUP, is composed of two parts. The
first part is the legal requirements that eGroups.com sets down as a
condition of our presence on their systems. Their policy can be found
at http://www.egroups.com/info/tos.html. The second part is a list of
acceptable conduct for participants, which follows a simple list of
do's and don'ts.
DO
* Encourage other members to speak their minds in a positive,
constructive fashion!
* Share information, tips, tricks, hints, and discoveries that you
have made in your personal quest!
* Offer positive, constructive criticism when a member solicits it!
* Assist others in finding the resources they need to make their
personal quests more fruitful!
* Ask questions and be inquisitive about how you can make your own
personal quest more fruitful!
* Acknowledge that the world is a big and diverse place, one that can
comfortably fit both your opinion and the opinions of others.
DON'T
* Encourage negative stereotyping of individuals based on how they
train or whom they train with!
* Discourage others from participating!
* Offer criticism or commentary that is negative, destructive, or
harmful!
* Misdirect or mislead others trying to find the resources they need!
* Take things too personally!
* Take things too seriously! It's only electrons on a piece of glass.
