Not to depress the mood (though i'm good at that), but this sorta thing's
been on my mind for a while ...

Whether or not you subscribe to Biblical prophecy ... actually, ya know,
it's easy enough just to leave Prophecy out of this & just get right to
the question. The question is: how would you deal with the following
scenarios -

1. you have 6 months to prepare for being able to live for 7 years without
being able to contact the rest of civilization (in fact, you'll basically
be a wanted outlaw).

so, if you can't buy or sell, & must maintain utter personal secrecy
(stay hidden), & must be able to handle the threat of major (but not
necessarily nuclear) war ... where do you go? & how do you survive?

2. how does your preparation change if you have 18-24 months?

i suppose you're not limited to having to stay in your home country, &
in fact, might be better off trying to survive in some "obscure" country
for a while...

Yeah, this is paranoid-sounding, Apocalyptic, "militia man", Conspiracy
Theory-type "Doomspeak" ... but it's still an interesting question to me.

&, no, i don't think the Y2K oversight/bug is necessarily going to trigger
The End of the World As We Know It. Not at all.

But i also don't buy into the notion that everlasting peace is on the
horizon either...
